Hi hi. There are many reasons why my output on this site is scarce. The chief one: I wrote two screenplays last year, one a pilot for a detective series called Highland County Breakdown, the other an historical detective thriller called Terrorburgh. So far I’ve had no luck with the pilot, but I am happy to announce that Terrorburgh is a quarter-finalist in the Emerging Screenwriters competition 2025.
The seed of Terrorburgh first germinated a decade ago, but the current version is unrecognizable when comparing it to the scenes I wrote back then. The original story was a contemporary dramedy and centered on a group of local dingbats, whereas Terrorburgh takes place in 1907 and is written in the style of a classic detective noir.
I’d love to see Millie and Chas and the monster up on the big screen. It’s not impossible, but it’s certainly unlikely. Yet, if this is far as I get, it was still satisfying to create something from nothing, participate in table reads and feedback, and send the story out into the world.
